Super Mario Bros. celebrates his anniversary 36 today

Today, September 13, the number 36 anniversary of the launch of Super Mario Bros. in Japan is celebrated. This is, it was in 1985 when Nintendo gave us one of the most iconic adventures that have been seen in the history of videogames. The game was designed by Shigeru Miyamoto and Takashi Tezuka, and introduced us to a plumber in the search for a princess.

While this was the game that put Mario and Luigi on the map, it was not the first title starring this duo, since in 1983 we saw Mario Bros. in the Arcades. To this day, Super Mario Bros. is considered one of the best games in NES and Famicom.

Between Relamination and Ports, Super Mario Bros. has sold more than 48 million units , something that should not be a great surprise, since this title was included in basically all the NES on sale during the second half of the 80s. You can find this title on your original platform, as well as in the SNES, Game Boy Color, Wii Virtual Console, Wii U and in the NES application for the Nintendo Switch.

As part of the advertisements for the 35th anniversary of the character, this year we saw the launch of Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury in Nintendo Switch , and during E3 a sequel was confirmed for Mario + Rabbids, which will be available in 2022. On related topics, the SWITCH price has been reduced.

Happy anniversary, Super Mario Bros.!
